Head Pins
1 1/2” Styrofoam Ball

Glue

*Depending on the overall design or placement of the pins, more packages may be needed. The sample uses 1-3 packages of any of the crystals and head pins.

Ornament Instructions:

1. Cut the head off of a head pin. Form a wrapped loop at one end of the pin. Apply glue to the shaft of the pin and insert into the center of a styrofoam ball. *Wait 4-6 hours for the glue to set before hanging. Use monofiliment or decorative ribbon to hang the ornament.
2. Thread the bead patterns onto head pins.

3. Snip the head pin approximately 1/2” to 3/4” past the beads. *The full head pin won’t fit into the styrofoam ball without pushing out or warping the pins stuck on the opposite side of the ball.

4. Press the pins into the ball in a pattern or randomly. If using a pattern it’s easier to start along the center and make a complete the row the entire distance around the ball, then press in the next row. This will help keep the rows even. Create a unique pattern by pressing the pins in randomly.

*Glue may be applied to the ends of the pins to make them more secure in the styrofoam. A quick drying glue is recommended unless you plan on moving the pins around. Remember that each time you remove a pin and replace it, the integrity of the styrofoam is weakened. Do not use super-glue or glues not recommended for styrofoam.
