  • Paperclip Cups and Beads!

    Click pictures to enlarge

Welcome to the third installation of crafty office supplies. This weeks’ project are paperclip cups. The projects feature seed beads used in a chevron pattern cross stitch and strung into bead balls. Inspired by the colorful bead balls I’ve seen used in earrings and bracelets I thought I’d give it a try. I don’t claim to be an expert at making bead balls, in fact this was one of my first tries at it, but they were so much fun to make I think I might make more and cover the entire cup in ...

  • Wrap up the summer!

It’s the height of summer and that means from coast to coast, music festivals are filling to capacity with people eager to show off their best in casual boho-vintage attire. America’s most fashionable festival, Coachella, has cultivated a confident 70’s inspired image that is both stylish and comfortable enough for the soaring desert temperatures. • DIY Napkin Rings make matching Easy!

Inspired by the pre-made napkin rings at home décor stores I thought I’d give it a try making my own. I discovered just how easy it was to make whimsical and elegant napkin rings using a few of my jewelry making supplies. • Can't forget the guys!

With Father's Day being Sunday (don't forget;-) we wanted to make this week's blog about a simple and yet manly design that has been worn for years. The square knot bracelet is a quick learn and can make a wide variety of designs. All you really need is some cord and a few beads. I chose two different styles of hemp because I feel the natural look is a very suitable for most male tastes. Leather, cotton and even parachute cord can be used too to create different textures and looks. The larger natural hemp creates a wider ...

  • Place Card Holders

As a follow up to the wine charms from a few weeks ago I decided to venture into making place card holders. Inspired by whimsical wedding place card holders, I created a few fun pieces featuring gauge wires and seed beads, pearls, crystals and glass beads in a variety of designs including underwater theme, hearts and spirals.

With only a few of my jewelry tools, round nose pliers and wire cutters, I began by making the base. Starting with a 2 foot length of 16 gauge wire, I made a loop at the end and formed the circular ...
