Accounts Payable Coordinator

Cousin Corporation is seeking an AP Coordinator who is excited about an opportunity learn and contribute to our ever-continuous growing company. Cousin Corporation provides an environment that is collaborative, open, demanding and exciting for those who want to push their limits. Our ideal candidate must be able to perform a variety of accounting support functions, process payments, post payables, reconcile general ledger accounts & prepares reports of accounting transactions as assigned. Successful candidates must be able to think critically and problem solve and work collaboratively and individually.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review weekly invoices for coding accuracy and completeness before posting to the general ledger
  • Sort, code, validate, vouch and match invoices
  • Process and mail weekly checks
  • Preform report analysis for expenses spent
  • Process employee expense reports by receiving and verifying expenses
  • Process monthly credit card statements
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments for international vendors
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Maintain 1099 vendor data for year-end process
  • Correspond to vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Complete month end closing process
  • Generate monthly reports
  • Assist with, and provide supporting documentation for annual audits
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Ability to develop computer based spreadsheets, graphs, summaries, and reports
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processing and receipt procedures
  • Skills in mathematical computations used in accounting
  • Must be detailed oriented and a critical thinker
  • Proficient in data entry and common office machinery and equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree from an accredited technical school or college, with a major in Accounting, Finance or Business and two (2) years of bookkeeping, accounting, or finance experience.

ASSISTANT DESIGNER

At Cousin, our team is energetic, dedicated and passionate. The newest addition to this great team will be an Assistant Designer to help us develop unique, on trend products for our Laura Janelle Division.

The ideal candidate has a great attitude, is extremely creative, and has a passion for fashion!

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Designers on development and execution of new product designs that achieve overall product strategy and merchandise objectives that are in line with market trends
  • Conduct extensive market research online and in print to identify emerging trends and upcoming seasonal themes
  • Create story boards and product presentations to present to team, management and customers
  • Understand and uphold design's aesthetic while offering new ideas and suggesting improvements to current product lines
  • Initiate and maintain status of material and sample requests and approvals
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining the sample room and the showroom
  • Support the review of prototypes to meet product development timeline milestones with a focus on product execution, consistency of details, and target margins
  • Execute, update and maintain necessary product development tools (such as Spec Sheets, Milestone Charts, and New Product Templates)
  • Assist in the communication with the merchandising team on any product development related updates or corrections made
Desired Skills
  • Ability to design creative concepts that are consumer focused to meet the needs of the retail customer with a strong sense of color and style design with a pulse on current trends
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a sense of teamwork and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and superb attention to detail
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with others within various levels of the organization
  • Must be able to perform in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally and currently hold or obtain a US Passport
Education / Experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of product design and/or illustration experience with a retailer or manufacturer (experience in fashion jewelry or accessories product development is a plus!)
  • College Degree in Fashion Design and/or equivalent combined work experience and education

Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive market research to identify emerging trends
  • Interpret trends and how they will translate to the gift market
  • Work with the Creative Lead on development and execution of product designs that achieve overall product strategy and merchandise objectives
  • Understand and uphold design’s aesthetic intent
  • Create story boards and presentations
  • Coordinate and leverage internal design capabilities with vendor partners while focusing on speed to market
  • Operate with a working knowledge of the development process and how it relates to product development timelines
  • Send development packages to overseas partners and sample facilities
  • Initiate and keep track of status of material and sample requests and approvals, and alert management of exceptions
  • Responsible for daily communication with overseas vendors
  • Support the review of prototypes to meet product development timeline milestones with a focus on product execution, consistency of details, and target margin
  • Execute, update and maintain necessary product development tools (such as Spec Sheets, Milestone Charts, and New Product Templates)
  • Demonstrate understanding of costing implications as they relate to the product development process and manage development costs, packaging costs, and final costs
  • Communicate with merchandising team on any product related updates or corrections made
  • Build effective relationships with key customers, vendors and internal partners in the Creative, Merchandising, Sales, Marketing and Production departments to promote collaboration and ensure product design requirements are developed, communicated and implemented
Desired Skills
  • Ability to design concepts that are consumer focused to meet the needs of the retail customer
  • Must have a high degree of proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office Programs
  • Experience in working with overseas manufacturers and vendors to develop innovative products is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong sense of teamwork and ability to multitask
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills with superb attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with others within various levels of the organization
  • Must be able to perform in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • Able to work the scheduled shift
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally and obtain a US Passport
Education / Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of product design and/or illustration experience with a retailer or manufacturer (experience in fashion jewelry or accessories product development is a plus!)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
